2016: The year we see the real cloud leaders emerge

You can probably rattle off the top enterprise software vendors without thinking: Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, and SAP. According to the best estimates I can find, those four companies together racked up close to $ 140 billion in software revenue in 2015, led of course by Microsoft and its well-known offerings.

Our cloud future will feature a different foursome — Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and IBM — and although public cloud revenues remain a small fraction of those driven by software, growth is by leaps and bounds across the board. AWS, whose long lead seems to grow and grow, pulled in more than $ 7 billion in 2015, a year-over-year expansion rate of around 80 percent.

Meet the real architects of tomorrow’s enterprise cloud

In the not-too-distant future, you’re going to hear a lot more about the CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation). The brainchild of Craig McLuckie, product manager for Google Cloud Platform and founder of Google’s Kubernetes project, the CNCF will lead the development of a standardized, open source platform for managing next-gen enterprise clouds of Docker containers.

Why is the CNCF so important? Because the future of enterprise computing is the cloud, and the future of the cloud is in the emerging container layer enabled by Docker and its rapidly expanding ecosystem. Basically, the CNCF’s mission is to take the hyperscale technology developed by such Internet giants as Google, Facebook, and Twitter and deliver it to the enterprise, resulting in what McLuckie calls “radical operational efficiencies.”

MRIS Launches Mobile App Platform to Edit Real Estate Listings On-the-Go

Rockville, MD (PRWEB) June 18, 2015

MRIS, the industry-leading Mid-Atlantic Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that facilitates nearly $ 125 million a day in real estate transactions, today announced the official release of its MLS developed mobile app with the ability to edit real estate listings anywhere and anytime.

The MRIS Mobile App, available for both Apple and Android devices, allows real estate professionals to easily make important edits to their listings directly from their smartphones and tablets. For residential sale or rental listings already submitted to the MLS, real estate agents can update the most commonly edited fields including list price, status, internet remarks and expiration date. Through the app, MRIS customers will also have the ability to update, delete and replace listing photos.

“Today’s real estate professionals require access to the most advanced tools through mobile platforms in order to meet and exceed the needs of their clients,” said Andrew Strauch, Vice President of Product Innovation and Marketing at MRIS. “Through the MRIS Mobile app, agents can easily edit listing data right from their smartphones whether they are out of the office showing houses or meeting with clients.”

Agents may edit fields for any listing with “On Market” status, making it easier for agents to keep information up-to-date and in compliance in a more timely fashion. From the “My Active Homes” screen, listing agents can simply tap on a listing to view the editable fields for any of their available listings and touch the Edit icon to make changes.

“We are excited to bring a mobile solution to our customers that will allow them to improve their productivity and efficiency. MRIS Mobile will now let agents update their listings on the fly after contracts are signed, update their listing’s remarks to reflect recent changes to the property, and manage photo order and description,” added Strauch.

The MRIS Mobile App, which joins MRIS’s suite of mobile products including Homesnap Pro, ShowingTime, and Close It!, has an extremely intuitive interface with consistent functionality across all major platforms. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPad iOS version 7.0 and above and Android version 3.0 and above. To download the free MRIS Mobile App, visit the Google Play or Apple iTunes store or visit http://www.MRIS.com/MRISmobile for more information.
